Hawaiian Style Surf School owner, Rick Kelii Nui Leong, has spent many years pursuing ocean sports. For the last 20 years he has taken thousands of visitors like you out in the ocean to experience kayaking, snorkeling and now surfing and stand up paddleboarding on Maui.
Kelii has put together a professional staff of local Hawaiian surfers to teach surfing and SUP including his daughter Cameo. This knowledgeable group are Red Cross Certified Life Guard, CPR and first aid trained. All have many years of experience in the ocean, surfing from Waikiki to Honolua Bay. Your safety, enjoyment of the ocean and learning to surf is their goal... the first time out.
In 1991 Kelii and wife Renee started a family owned kayak tour company called Kelii's Kayak Tours. Over the following years they carried out hundreds of successful tours and established a good relationship with some the best destination management companies, hotels and travel companies on Maui and in the Hawaiian Islands.
Families, couples and corporate groups from around the globe enjoyed the times they had with Kelii and his team. In 1998 with repeated requests from their guest who returned year after year to Maui to go kayaking, they added surf lessons to their list of activities. From 2001 on they have concentrated their expertise in providing top-notch surf lessons. In 2007 while stand up paddle surfing was just in growing stages of interest on Maui, they started offering SUP lessons which in this point in time has taken off worldwide.
